Way back in 2016, I started Professor Errare as a way to vent about people’s general lack of knowledge concerning history and the world we live in. Over the years it has morphed several times, mostly being a repository of quirky history, but recently containing mostly incoherent rants about the states, which has not been nearly as popular as past offerings. For nearly four years I’ve published at least once a week, and if I’m being totally honest, I’m starting to get worn out with it. There’s a lot of things I want to do and a lot of projects I want to work on, and in the end something has to give.
That being said, I’ve greatly enjoyed the outpouring of support over the years for Professor Errare. It has been a lot of fun to do and I don’t want to abandon it entirely. However, I’m also not happy with where it currently is. So with all that it mind, this is what is going to happen.
First, the current rants about the states are going to continue until October 8, when all of the original 13 colonies are completed. I might still add one from time to time, but it’s no longer going to be on the weekly schedule to which you’ve grown accustomed. I might also do other random posts when something especially quirky or weird catches my eye and I get an itch to share it with the world.
Second, things are going to switch a bit as far as format. Starting October 8, instead of depending upon my own weird mind to find things, Professor Errare is going to mostly switch to a question and answer format. Basically, if you have a question about history or why something is the way it is today, you can send it to the good professor and he’ll do his best to answer it. More details on this will be coming soon.
I know nobody likes change, but change is often overall good. Thank you everyone for your support over the years. I look forward to trying out this new format with you in October.
