I’m proud to announce the self-publication of my newest novel Benito, a short comedic romp involving deals with the Devil, long dead Italian dictators, muscle-bound priests, cockney accented goons, and the foibles of the local theater community. Though a short read, it is one of my favorite things I’ve written in awhile and I’m pleased to be able to put it out into the world.
This is the first novel in awhile which I have chosen to put through its paces in an attempt to find an agent in order to get it professionally published. However, as with past attempts, it has struggled to find a place, not due to the writing itself, but rather due to other factors, specifically in this case the apparent assumption that nobody wants to read a children’s length novel written for adults. While that seems rather silly to me, especially given shortened attention spans, I’m not the one who decides such things, so here we are. I’d rather write the things I want to write than what others tell me should be written, and I’d rather have something I write be read by just a handful of people than have it not be read at all.
If you’re interested more information on the book and how to get it can be found via the below link. If you do read and enjoy it, I’d greatly appreciate you telling your friends about it and leaving an online review. Word of mouth is still one of the most powerful ways of getting things out into the world.
